Stephen D. Ollerhead, retired printing executive, dies

Stephen D. Ollerhead, a retired printing sales executive, died of pancreatic cancer Aug. 10 at his Towson home. He was 64.

Born in Milford, Conn., he was the son of William Ollerhead, a Chessie System Inc. senior vice president and former deputy director of the Maryland Port Authority, and Caroline A. Leary.

Mr. Ollerhead attended St. Joseph School in Cockeysville and was a 1969 graduate of Calvert Hall College High School.

He attended Randolph Macon College, where he was a founder of a club lacrosse program.

He became a station agent for Frontier Airlines and worked in Flagstaff, Ariz.; Cody, Wyo.; Great Falls, Mont.; and Orange County, Calif.

He organized an air show while in Cody, and while working there also enjoyed skiing, hunting, fishing, camping and canoeing.

He returned to Baltimore in 1985 and became vice president of sales for French-Bray Printing. He worked from the firm's Glen Burnie plant and assisted Baltimore financial firms with their annual reports.

He was a member of the Sparrows Point Country Club, where he played golf. He also enjoyed cycling on the Northern Central Trail.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, 6428 York Road, where he was a member.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Peggy Moir Ollerhead, a Roland Park Country School psychologist; two sons, Dustin Ollerhead of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Michael Ollerhead of Towson; a daughter, Lauren Mancina of Towson; two brothers, William S. Ollerhead and Robert S. Ollerhead, both of Charleston, S.C.; and two grandsons. A son, Kristian Ollerhead, died in 2006.
