Sallye J. Esterson, Realtor

Sallye J. Esterson, a retired Baltimore Realtor who enjoyed golfing, died of complications from dementia March 15 at the North Oaks retirement community near Owings Mills. She was 90.

The daughter of Herman Josephs, a furniture store owner, and Florence Josephs, a clerk, Sallye Josephs was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and raised in New York City on West 86th Street.

She was a graduate of New York public schools and earned a bachelor's degree from Cornell University in 1945.

In 1946, she married Larry Esterson, a stockbroker, and moved to Baltimore. He died in 1995.

Mrs. Esterson earned her real estate license and went to work in the early 1970s for Rosalie Switzenbaum and later joined Weichert Realtors, from which she retired in the late 1990s.

The former longtime Park Heights Avenue resident moved to North Oaks about eight years ago. She was a member of Woodholme Country Club and was also a world traveler.

Mrs. Esterson was a member of Chizuk Amuno Congregation.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at Sol Levinson & Bros. in Pikesville.

She is survived by three sons, Perry Esterson of New York City, Michael Esterson of Westmont, N.J., and Scott Esterson of Los Angeles; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
