Robert F. Wolf Sr., electrical contractor

Robert Wolf (Baltimore Sun)

Robert F. Wolf Sr., a retired electrical contractor, died of cancer June 1 at his stepson's home in Baltimore. He was 78 and had lived Monkton.

Born in Baltimore and raised in Catonsville, he was the son of Edward Wolf and the former Virginia Volkman. He was a 1957 graduate of St. Paul's School, where he played varsity lacrosse. He was a member of the school's 1955 MSA championship team and was an assistant junior varsity lacrosse coach his senior year. He was later active in Baltimore County Recreation League lacrosse programs.

He served in the Naval Reserves for eight years.

Trained as an electrician, he formed his own business in the 1970s and operated in Phoenix in Baltimore County. He worked in custom home construction and for local businesses.

Mr. Wolf retired in 2001 and moved to New Lebanon, N.Y., when his wife, Nancy Maslack Wolf, was named head of the Darrow School. In 2013, they retired together to Sunderland, Vt.

Mr. Wolf collected miniature cars, Hot Wheels and Heisey glass. He enjoyed flea markets and antiquing, and traveled widely.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Episcopal Church, 1509 Glencoe Road in Glencoe.

Survivors include his wife of 18 years, a former Oldfields School administrator; a son, Robert F. "Ric" Wolf Jr. of Westminster; two daughters, Virginia "Ginna" Welsh, also of Westminster, and Susan White of Lineboro; a stepson, Jan D. "Judd" Maslack II of Baltimore; and nine grandchildren.
