Funeral arrangements set for girl killed in sailing accident

Olivia R. Constants, an avid sailor and soccer player who had just completed her freshman year at Broadneck High School in Annapolis, died Thursday in a sailing accident. She was 14.

Ms. Constants was raised in Edgewater and Annapolis. Last year she graduated from Annapolis Area Christian School.

"She was a very happy person, always brightening people's day," friend Ryan Bugarin, who attended soccer camp with Constants and went to the same high school, told The Baltimore Sun on Friday.

Surviving are her parents, Dorothy and Stephen Constants; an older sister, Chloe; grandmothers, Mrs. Alfred C. Constants Jr. of Arnold and Mrs. Alfreda Dobrzycka of Poland; four uncles, Alfred Constants of Locust Valley, N.Y., David Constants of Wayne, N.J., Michael Constants of Woodland Park, N.J., and Maciek Constants of Poland; and five cousins.

A visitation will be held at Lasting Tributes Cremation and Funeral Care, 814 Bestgate Road, Annapolis, on Monday, June 27, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Bay Area Community Church, 884 Chesterfield Road, Annapolis, on Tuesday, June 28, at 10:30 a.m. Burial will take place at Bestgate Memorial Park, 814 Bestgate Road, Annapolis, immediately following the funeral.
