Mrs. Isch was an avid reader of novels and was a “ferocious Scrabble player,” said a daughter, Susan Kim of Marshall Township, Pa.
“She had a great sense of humor and was always sharing jokes. She was a beacon of strength, determination, kindness, and was a classy dignified woman,” Ms. Kim said. “She was our personal hero.”
Plans for a celebration of life gathering in March are incomplete.
In addition to her daughter, she is survived by a son, Joseph Isch of Sticks, Pa.; another daughter, Karen Isch of Tallahassee, Fla.; a sister, Carol Pass of Camp Hill, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Her marriage ended in divorce.
