Marjorie Catherine Ordun, a homemaker and volunteer, died of complications from dementia Jan. 27 at Kline Hospice House in Frederick. She was 89 and had lived in Severna Park and Towson.
Marjorie Catherine Paulsen was born in Omaha, Neb. She attended a Philadelphia business school and worked as a secretary.
In 1944, she married Donald W. Ordun, an engineer and a founder of Electronic Modules Corp. in Timonium.
They moved to Baltimore in the mid-1950s and lived in Loch Raven Village. She was a Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts volunteer. She also donated time to Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland.
She and her husband later bought and renovated a home in Severna Park. She gardened there and was a hospice volunteer. They also had a home in Ocean Pines. In 2000, they moved to Frederick.
She enjoyed sewing and made children's clothing as well as doll outfits for her grandchildren.
Services will be held at noon Feb. 18 at the Mitchell-Wiedefeld Funeral Home, 6300 York Road in Rodgers Forge.
Survivors include three sons, Michael R. Ordun of Baltimore, Steven W. Ordun of Vienna, Va., and David H. Ordun of Breckenridge, Colo.; a daughter, Catherine E. Bolte of Frederick; a sister, Lois McKenna of Jacksonville, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. Her husband of 56 years died in 2001.
