Margaret W. "Mardie" Robinson, a homemaker and volunteer, died Thursday from respiratory failure at Roland Park Place. She was 101.
The daughter of a lumber company executive and a homemaker, Margaret Wilson Wood was born on Forest Road, now Keswick Road, in Roland Park, and was later raised on Woodlawn Road.
Mrs. Robinson was the sister of H. Graham Wood, the noted Chesapeake Bay steamboat historian and author, who died in 1998.
After graduating from Roland Park Country School in 1931, she worked as an administrator in a dental office and later for Anne Weems Williams, a Roland Park interior decorator.
She was married in 1940 to George D.F. Robinson Jr. After living in Mount Washington and Homeland, the couple moved to a home on Longwood Road in Roland Park, where they lived for many years.
Mr. Robinson, a retired senior vice president of the old Maryland National Bank, died in 1993.
Mrs. Robinson had been a member of the board of the Keswick Multi-Care Center and the Women's Board of Children's Hospital, where she also had been a volunteer.
She was a member of the Elkridge Club and a former member of the Mount Vernon Club, the L'Hirondelle Club and the Roland Park Garden Club.
Mrs. Robinson was a longtime communicant and Altar Guild member of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, 5603 N. Charles St., where a memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel.
Mrs. Robinson is survived by a son, David Graham Robinson of Boston; a daughter, Anne Cushing Robinson Livens of Melvin Village, N.H.; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
