Margaret P. Kookogey, secretary

Margaret P. Kookogey, a retired executive secretary and a longtime Towson resident, died April 26 of pancreatic cancer at a son's Lutherville home. She was 95.

The daughter of Evan Leonard Pieper and Nellie Gross Pieper, Harford County farmers, Margaret Pieper was born and raised in Emmorton.

She was a 1936 graduate of Bel Air High School, and three years later, married James E, Kookogey, an insurance executive. He died in 1993.

Mrs. Kookogey worked as a secretary for Morrow Bros. and Home Builders Association of Maryland. In the late 1960s, she became executive secretary at the old Maryland Academy of Sciences, which later became the Maryland Science Center.

In 1978, she became executive secretary of the Rotary Club of Baltimore, a position she held until retiring in 1986.

The longtime resident of Colonial Court in Towson was an accomplished needleworker. In recent years, she had lived with a son in Lutherville.

A funeral service for Mrs. Kookogey will be held at noon Saturday at Ruck Towson Funeral Home, 1050 York Road.

Mrs. Kookogey is survived by two sons, James L. Kookogey and Wayne Kookogey, both of Lutherville; and three granddaughters.
