Mable J. Stevenson, a homemaker who enjoyed arts and crafts, died Friday of respiratory failure at Envoy Nursing Home in Pikesville. She was 93.
The daughter of farmers, the former Mable Pahl was born in Baltimore and raised in Pikesville. She was a 1937 graduate of Franklin Senior High School
She was married in 1938 to Clarence E. Jolly, who was purchasing agent at the old News American. He died in 1966.
The longtime Randallstown resident who had moved to the nursing home three years ago, was married in 1968 to Jasper K. Stevenson, a Prudential Insurance Co. salesman. He died in 1986.
Mrs. Stevenson enjoyed arts and crafts and was known for her hand-decorated antique butter churns and barrels.
She also liked going to flea markets where she bought as well as sold items from her own stand.
"Her business card read, 'The Jolly Peddler,'" said her daughter, Deborah J. Rebok of Randallstown.
Mrs. Stevenson was a member for many years of St. James Lutheran Church in Rockdale.
Funeral services for Mrs. Stevenson will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Burrier Queen Funeral Home, 1212 W. Liberty Road, Winfield.
In addition to her daughter, Mrs. Stevenson is survived by three sons, Stephen D. Jolly of Eldersburg, W. Wayne Jolly of Randallstown and M. Ronald Jolly of Marietta, Ga.; two brothers, George Pahl of Eldersburg and Les Pahl of Pikesville; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
