Lyndon Anthony Wilkinson, a warehouse worker and avid football fan, died of complications from sarcoidosis Oct. 17 at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. The Joppatowne resident was 30.
Born in Wichita, Kan., he was the son of Ezra Wilkinson, an electrician and union member, and Gene Archer Wilkinson, a radiologic technician.
He grew up in Essex and attended Sandalwood Elementary and Deep Creek Middle schools and was a 2001 graduate of Joppatowne High School, where he played basketball.
He was also a participant in football and baseball programs held at the Stembridge and Essex recreation councils in eastern Baltimore County.
Mr. Wilkinson studied at Harford Community College. He was a former salesman at Best Buy and Circuit City. He was also a data analyst in Aberdeen and a warehouse worker for Frito-Lay in Aberdeen.
"He was warmhearted and funny, and was the life of a party," said his sister, Lisa Wilkinson, a Hopkins Bayview nurse. "If you needed anything, he was the kind of person who would bend over backward to do it."
He enjoyed cooking, barbecuing and grilling. He was a football fan and closely followed the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Shining Star Baptist Church, 11832 Eastern Ave. in Middle River.
In addition to his parents and his sister, who all live in Joppatowne, survivors include a son, Kellan Anthony Wilkinson of Essex.
