Kathleen M. Anderson, clerical worker

Kathleen M. Anderson, a retired Giant grocery store clerical worker who enjoyed visiting beaches, died of cancer Tuesday at her Arnold home. She was 54.

Kathleen Marie Falter was born in Baltimore and raised in Arnold.

She began working for the Giant grocery store chain in 1979 after graduating from high school. During her 31-year career, she spent 25 years until retiring in 2010 as an office worker at the Giant's Glen Burnie store.

Mrs. Anderson enjoyed scrapbooking, spending time with her family and going to the beach.

"She liked visiting Ocean City but enjoyed any beach," said her husband of 37 years, Richard Anderson, a contractor.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Barranco Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Anderson is survived by two daughters, Christal Marie Cobb of Arnold and Melanie Ann Pindell of Glen Burnie; her mother, Audrey Marie Falter of Glen Burnie; a brother, John B. Falter Jr. of Edgewater; two sisters, Tammy Pitcher of Pasadena and Wendy Maher of Glen Burnie; and two grandchildren.
