John F. Zellers, pressman

John F. Zellers, a retired pressman and salesman, died July 27 of complications from dementia at his Nottingham home. He was 71.

Born in Baltimore and raised in Brooklyn Park, Mr. Zellers was a 1960 graduate of Brooklyn Park High School.

From 1960 to the mid-1980s, Mr. Zellers worked as a pressman at the old Lord Baltimore Press, which was located in the 1500 block of Greenmount Ave. and later became a division of International Paper Co.

After leaving the printing company, Mr. Zellers worked in carpet sales and installation until retiring in 2007.

The longtime Nottingham resident enjoyed playing golf and tennis and spending summers in Ocean City.

Services are private.

Surviving are his wife of 26 years, the former Jenny Thelen; two daughters, Renee Taylor of Bel Air and Sharon McNeil of Sydney, Australia; a brother, Leonard Zellers of Glen Burnie; and five grandchildren. An earlier marriage ended in divorce.
