John J. O'Hare IV, a retired businessman who had owned and operated a personnel placement service, died Nov. 17 at the University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center of a heart attack. He was 68.
The son of John J. O'Hare III, who worked in customer service for the old Eastern Airlines, and Martha Tyler O'Hare, a homemaker, John Joseph O'Hare IV was born in Elizabeth, N.J., and was a child when he moved with his family to Hapeville, Ga.
After graduating from the University of West Georgia in Carrollton, Ga., Mr. O'Hare went to work for Display Data. In 1979, he moved to the company's Hunt Valley office, where he rose to vice president.
Mr. O'Hare owned and operated Auto Careers, a personnel placement service, from 1993 until retiring in 2008, when he closed the business.
A resident of Timonium for the last 35 years, Mr. O'Hare enjoyed golfing and fishing.
Mr. O'Hare's family will receive family and friends at the Lemmon Funeral Home, 10 W. Padonia Road, Timonium, on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., at which time a memorial service will begin.
Mr. O'Hare is survived by his wife of 40 years, the former Wanda Landrum; two sons, John J. "J.J." O'Hare V and Brian O'Hare, both of Baltimore; a daughter, Colleen O'Hare of Atlanta; two sisters, Nancy O'Hare and Tina O'Daniel, both of Atlanta; and a granddaughter.
