James G. Gayhardt, a retired partner in a Baltimore integrated security firm, died May 21 at Greater Baltimore Medical Center of heart failure. He was 83.
The son of Francis Patrick Gayhardt, general manager of Bugle Linen Service, and Evelyn Cecilia Hines Gayhardt, a homemaker, James George Gayhardt was born in Baltimore and raised in Catonsville.
He was a 1950 graduate of Catonsville High School and earned a bachelor's degree in 1954 in business from the University of Baltimore.
Mr. Gayhardt was in sales for Johnson & Johnson from 1960 to 1967, when he joined Bugle Linen Service. In 1972, he became a partner in Tele-Tector of Baltimore, an integrated security system firm. He retired in 1990.
He was married in 1956 to Beverly Anne Lanning. After he retired, the couple moved to Heidelberg, Germany, where his wife served as executive director of the Girl Scouts of Western Europe.
