"She treated everyone like family," said her son, John M. Sofia of Newark, Del. "She was a happy person who laughed a lot. She had a good sense of humor."
She enjoyed cooking and baking and was known for her ravioli, hot milk sponge cake and cookies.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 689 Ritchie Highway in Severna Park. She was a church volunteer, Eucharistic minister and Bible study group member. She also belonged to the Ladies of the Holy Trinity and the Knights of Columbus auxiliary.
In addition to her son, survivors include another son, Michael J. Sofia of Doylestown; a daughter, Dr. Carmella A. Sofia of Fall River, Mass.; and four grandchildren. Her husband of nearly 57 years died in 2012.
