Frank C. Pine, a retired Baltimore businessman and former Towson resident, died July 13 of complications from Parkinson's disease at Oak Manor Health Care Center in Largo, Fla. He was 66.
The son of James A. Pine Sr., a Towson lawyer and a state senator, and Charlotte W. Pine, a lawyer, Frank Carlton Pine was born in Baltimore and raised in Baldwin.
He attended Boys' Latin School and St. Paul's School and graduated in 1967 from Perry Hall High School. He earned a bachelor's degree in 1971 in political science and history from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
For more than 20 years until selling the business in the early 1990s, Mr. Pine owned and operated a 7-Eleven franchise on Hanover Street in South Baltimore.
Mr. Pine was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease more than 20 years ago, said his wife of 12 years, the former Mary Diggs.
Mr. Pine, who retired to Largo in 2010, enjoyed spending summers in Ocean City and swimming. He was an inveterate Ravens fan.
Plans for a memorial service to be held Oct. 1 at Chestnut Grove Presbyterian Church in Phoenix, Baltimore County, are incomplete.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Pine is survived by a brother, James A. Pine Jr. of Towson; two sisters, Nancy Lee Pine of Baldwin and Mary Pine Beadle of Scottsdale, Ariz.; two nephews; and two nieces. An earlier marriage ended in divorce.
