Dorothy Lee "Dot" Warfield, a homemaker and longtime Annapolis resident, died July 28 of cancer at Martin Memorial Hospital in Stuart, Fla.
She was 79.
Dorothy Lee Davis, the daughter of a Baltimore & Ohio railroader and a waitress, was born in Baltimore and raised on Nicholas Avenue in Northeast Baltimore.
After graduating in 1949 from Eastern High School, she worked as a secretary before her 1954 marriage to L.O. "Buz" Warfield, a Korean War veteran and decorated Naval Reserve aviator.
Because of her husband's job as a district manager for Amoco Oil Co., Mrs. Warfield lived in Richmond, Va., Pittsburgh, Concord, Mass., and locally in Towson, Timonium and Annapolis.
The couple moved to Stuart in 2005, and Mr. Warfield died three years later.
Mrs. Warfield was an active member of the Philanthropic Educational Organization.
She enjoyed playing bridge, tennis and golf. She also liked interior decorating.
Services were held Friday.
Surviving are a son, John D. Warfield of Stuart; and a daughter, Dawn Lee Warfield of Roland Park.
