Our year wouldn’t be complete without thanking you for making The Baltimore Sun the place you trust for local news.
We are proud that The Sun stands out as the leading source of news in our region, continuing to win awards at a time when journalism itself is often under attack.
The Maryland-Delaware-DC Press Association named The Sun its News Organization of the Year among large news groups for the ninth time in 10 years this past May, in a category that includes The Washington Post. The Sun also earned the association’s annual James S. Keat Freedom of Information Award for using public records to investigate police misconduct and other issues, an award we have won three years in a row. These awards reflect our talented journalists and our commitment to the kind of investigative journalism that can tackle our biggest challenges and improve our community.
We have more readers than ever before and more ways to reach them. The Baltimore Sun Media Group offers news online through baltimoresun.com, the Sun App, our e-newspaper (a digital replica of the daily print edition) and social-media updates on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and more. We have introduced an Amazon Echo news briefing. And our nearly 20 community newspapers and our flagship paper continue the tradition of quality print journalism. All these methods to connect with readers provide our advertisers with a vast array of state-of-the-art digital assets and targeted marketing solutions to reach consumers.
Your support, along with that of our valuable advertisers, truly matters. It is the reason we can continue to be the voice for our region, and it allows us to evolve in a fast-changing environment. We remain committed to providing you news and information where and when you want it, and we promise to continue a 180-year mission of providing “Light for All.”
On behalf of all of us at The Baltimore Sun Media Group, we wish you joy, health and peace in the New Year.
Thank you for your continued support.
