MARC delays expected Thursday because of Hurricane Florence

The Baltimore Sun

Because of Amtrak and Virginia Rail Express’ cancellations of southbound trains resulting from Hurricane Florence, MARC trains will experience delays arriving and departing Union Station in Washington on Thursday, the Maryland Transit Administration announced Wednesday night.

At this time, the Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration will run a full-service schedule for MARC on Thursday. MDOT MTA is closely monitoring the progress of Hurricane Florence as it approaches the Carolinas.

Decisions regarding a reduction or curtailment of MARC service Friday will be made when a clear picture of the potential impact on the area becomes available.

Riders are encouraged to check the MARC Train Advisories webpage,, for further information and to follow MDOT MTA on social media for updates.
