More storms could hit Ellicott City, Baltimore region Sunday evening

More storms could disrupt efforts to help Ellicott City recover from devastating floods that hit Saturday night.

A strong storm dumping an inch to an inch and a half of rain passed through Martinsburg, West Virginia, toward Frederick just before 4 p.m. Sunday. That storm and others scattered around it were heading eastward toward the Baltimore region.

The National Weather Service forecast 60 percent chances of storms across the region late Sunday.

Floodwaters poured down Ellicott City's Main Street after more than 6 inches of rain fell within two hours. Two people died in the floods, Howard County officials said.

Storms are also possible Monday afternoon or evening. The weather service forecasts about 30 percent chances of storms across the region.
