Baltimore approaching 2 years without 100-degree temperatures

Baltimore is a week away from setting an interesting milestone -- going two years without hitting triple-digit temperatures.

It has been since the 104-degree afternoon of July 18, 2012, that the mercury hit triple digits at Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport, the point of record for Baltimore.

The hottest temperature here since then was 97 degrees, exactly one year after that last triple-digit day. The highest mark of this summer has been 96 degrees June 18.

There are no immediate forecasts approaching the triple digits, or even that close to the 90s.
