Coastal flood advisory in effect for Baltimore, Middle River

A coastal flood advisory is in effect through 10 a.m. Tuesday in Baltimore, with a "tidal anomaly" and high winds expected to bring high-tide waters about a foot above their normal level along some shore lines, according to the National Weather Service.

Flooding is most likely during high tide in Baltimore's Inner Harbor and Fort McHenry about 7:36 a.m., and at Bowley Bar in Middle River about 8:28 a.m., the weather service said.

An advisory of possible flooding was also given for the U.S. Naval Academy and along the shores of Chesapeake Beach, where high tide was earlier in the morning.

A patchy fog is possible in the morning through the Baltimore region, where showers and thunderstorms are possible.

Temperatures are expected to reach into the upper 80s, with more thunderstorms possible this evening.

Wednesday is expected to be mostly sunny.
