Towson University President Timothy Chandler is far from spineless, as one of your readers recently suggested ("Towson U. president signs students' demands after 8-hour protest in his office," Nov. 19).
Instead of confrontation, he and his hard-working staff choose to do whatever it took to prove that minority students matter to the university community.
Higher education is where the historical stain of human enslavement and its consequences must be rigorously examined. Who better to do that than a university president, no matter how long it takes?
Noble adversaries can build bridges together.
