Few can deny that Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake is a polished and articulate spokeswoman on behalf of Baltimore. However, there appears to be an unmistakable pattern of her making poor appointments to key positions that are eroding her credibility ("City agency director has law firm with state contract on the side," March 28). The mayor has access to the best and brightest talent in the country. Hopefully, future recruitment will steer her away from mediocrity and the appearance of impropriety in those she chooses for city leadership.
