Pimlico should have had a casino in the first place

Has everyone forgotten that the original plan for gambling in Maryland was proposed to be at the current racetracks? Instead of spending millions and millions on new freestanding casinos, why didn't they stay on course and use that money to fix the tracks and put the casinos there (“How to keep Preakness in Pimlico,” May 17)?

Boost those neighborhoods. I have been to Pimlico and love the tradition and history. I would hate to see it closed. The wasting of money, corruption and plain old stupid decisions never ceases to amaze me.
