Turbines would be a nightmare for OC

Your Monday morning editorial headline was, “Not again, Dr. Harris” (June 11) to which I want to shout: "Yes, again, Dr. Harris!" It is horrifying to think that wind turbines "with red lights atop each tower… will be visible from the beaches of Ocean City and Assateague.” Why on earth should we prefer subsidizing the well-to-do beachfront homeowners and developers while permanently destroying the beautiful, natural and peaceful view that we all treasure, especially at night?

Falling property values and damaged tourism might be a blessing for those of us who used to love the old Ocean City, and can't believe that there aren't better ways to combat the damage caused by burning fossil fuels.

And have you explored the financial interests and political connections of the wind turbine industry in Maryland?
