Claim of a break between Baltimore's blacks and Jews smacks of bigotry

I found the tone of the commentary, “A bump in the bond between Baltimore’s core Democratic coalition: black and Jewish voters” (Oct. 23), to be totally racist. Not all residents of the 41st District are African American or Jewish. All residents are concerned about safety.

If Zeke Cohen advocates for his City Council district in Fells Point, is it because he is Jewish? If a Mennonite runs for office in a farming district, is it because he or she is Mennonite? The voting record of Del. Sandy Rosenberg and advocacy is not related to his religion. He has helped a supermarket to locate in the food desert area of Howard Park. He has worked to abolish the death penalty and sponsored legislation to eliminate discrimination against insurance companies putting exclusions on travel to Israel.

Finally, the authors’ hint at a conspiracy between Isaac “Yitzy” Schleifer and Shomrim is right out of Joseph Goebbels’ writings.
