Voting makes a difference because elections have consequences [Letter]

It's been fascinating to see columnist Thomas Schaller and others dutifully acknowledge that Del. Heather Mizeur has run the best campaign and offers the best defined positions in the governor's race but then back off assuring readers that of course she can't actually win ("Brown's ahead in part because the other two are behind," June 10).

There is no "of course" about it. If all the people who keep dithering about whether they are backing a winner would get it through their heads that after looking at all the evidence it is their behavior that determines who wins, then of course Ms. Mizeur would win. It's simple, or would be if the pundits quit confusing the issue.

The Preakness is over, folks. This is an election. It's about time you learned the difference.
