What's up with Manny Machado? It certainly seems he has a lot of pent-up venom lately. The incident with his flinging of the bat during a recent game is unacceptable and is inconsistent with his previous behavior ("Orioles third baseman Manny Machado apologizes for bat-throwing incident," June 9).
I am certain it is a very arduous thing to completely rehab with the type of injury he suffered toward the latter part of last season. In recovering, the truth may be that Mr. Machado may not be the player he was, with flashes of brilliance, until next season.
Until then, he has to grow up a bit. The "Manny Being Manny" shtick was patented by another Manny (Ramirez) and we see where it got that guy.
Grow up Manny, get back to focusing on what is important when you put on that Orioles uniform, what it represents, and how you should comport yourself when have the names "Baltimore" or "Orioles" emblazoned across your chest. The entire baseball world will be watching, you can count on that.
