The graduating class at Glenelg High School should be allowed -- even encouraged -- to wear the blue ribbons in remembrance of Grace McComas ("Blue ribbons for Grace," March 26).
This was truly a tragedy, but it can also be made into lessons about the importance of kindness, empathy and the potential impact of individual and group actions onto others.
This cause and effect should not be pushed aside but be made relatable to life as these young people grow and learn. Not acknowledging Ms. McComas' importance in the world will decrease the impact of the lessons that should be taken from all of this.
