Regarding your recent editorial supporting stiffer penalties for distracted driving that results in serious injury or death, I'm always fascinated with individuals who oppose laws designed to make us safer because they feel their privacy is compromised ("Jake's law," March 3).
What are they hiding? My life is an open book. If you're not conducting illicit business on your phone, what's the problem? People need to put down their phones and show some concern for the world around them.
