Police issue citations in Arundel accident that injured trooper

Maryland State Police on Tuesday issued traffic charges to an Anne Arundel man involved in a crash four months ago that critically injured a state trooper on a traffic stop.

Enrique Guzman Jr., 21, of Pasadena, was issued traffic citations for violating Maryland's 'move over' law, and for negligent driving. The two carry fines of $750 and $280, respectively

He was charged in connection with an Oct. 6 crash on Route 100. Trooper Jacqueline Kline had stopped on the shoulder of the highway for a traffic stop when the car driven by Guzman struck her, police said.

Kline was hospitalized for several weeks, but is continuing to recover, police said. Guzman may stand trial or pay the fines. police said.
