As avid Urbanite followers in both the print and web incarnations, it was with deep sadness we read the article in the Sept. 14 Baltimore Sun article on the end of the Urbanite ("'Urbanite' shutting down at end of September, publisher says").
There are few publications, let alone free publications, that are so well written and highlight our diverse city so well. It's a shame that in our struggling economy a well-composed magazine has to close its doors. Even our own Baltimore Sun requires a paid online subscription after a 30-day trial period to combat the economy and changing times. To lose not only the print magazine but its online counterpart as well is a disservice to our city.
We here at Eye Byte Solutions have had the immense pleasure to work with Urbanite and have had our designed advertisements within their publication. We'd like to say thank you to all the staff/writers/artists/contributors over the years at Urbanite for their hard work and dedication. Know that you will be missed and we wish you the best on your future endeavors.
