Early voting in Maryland? These jurisdictions will tell you the wait time at the polls before you go

The Baltimore Sun

Like a Black Friday trip to retail stores and a visit to the MVA, waiting in line can sometimes be a staple of voting.

In Maryland, registered voters are able to cast ballots early.

Still, several jurisdictions have taken the experience a step further, allowing voters to get a peek at wait times in advance of arriving at polling stations. Here’s where residents can see how long the lines are:

Montgomery County

Voters can check wait times in minutes for the 11 early voting stations on the Montgomery County Board of Elections webpage.

Anne Arundel County

The seven early voting stations in Anne Arundel County have wait times in minutes listed on the Board of Elections webpage.

Carroll County

While Carroll County does not have a formal system for monitoring wait times, board of elections director Katherine Berry said she tries to provide turnout updates to the public on social media.

Early voters can find her posts on the Carroll County Board of Elections Facebook page.

You can find more early voting info here.
