Talk to us: Should Maryland raise its hourly minimum wage to $15?

With the start of the General Assembly session on Wednesday, Democratic lawmakers are expected to file a bill to raise the minimum wage from $10.10 to $15 an hour.

Gov. Hogan expressed concern Wednesday and questioned whether it would hurt or benefit Maryland’s economy. Hogan said Maryland’s economy is moving in a positive direction and he wouldn’t want to chase businesses away.

Supporters, on the other hand, argue that the current minimum wage is not a living wage for working families in Maryland, and raising it could help lift workers out of poverty.
