Green ribbons for Gov. Larry Hogan

A day after his startling announcement, Gov. Larry Hogan was not in attendance at a board meeting, but his presence was felt in the form of green ribbons.

Hogan announced Monday he has been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and will undergo aggressive treatment soon. He said he intends to fulfill his duties as governor, though he said he will ask Lt. Gov. Boyd Rutherford to fill in at some events.

Rutherford oversaw Tuesday's meeting of the Board of Public Works in Hogan's absence.

Many in attendance at Tuesday's meeting were wearing the lime green ribbons, which symbolize the fight against lymphoma.
