8. (9) Wilde Lake (2-3-1 county, 2-4-1 overall)

After losing three straight in overtime, the Wildecats were determined to turn their fortunes around this week. They opened up at Howard, and played another double overtime match – their fourth OT game of the season – and came away with the scoreless tie, after a huge outing by sophomore goalkeeper Jenna Hutchison (23 saves). Then on a Friday night game at home against Long Reach, picked up their first win since beating Hammond in their first county game of the year. Sophomore Julianna Bonner went off – having a game to remember after scoring all four of Wilde Lake’s goals in the game, which helped clinch the, 4-2, victory. The four goals was a season-high for the Wildecats, and the win broke a streak of four-consecutive winless games. That type of victory could ignite Wilde Lake, who has the potential to be a scary team come late October, as the Wildecats posses a stand-out keeper, go-to scorer and also has playoff experience from last season. Up next: Tuesday, Oct. 4 at Oakland Mills.
