4. (4) Centennial (3-2-1 county, 6-2-1 overall)

The Eagles continued their impressive play and picked up a tie and a win on the week. They dominated play against the Mustangs on Sept. 27 and had numerous chances to score down the stretch, but Marriotts Ridge goalkeeper Emma Meininger stepped up and made some tough saves to preserve the, 1-1, tie. Motivated to clinch its third county win, Centennial took its momentum from the draw against the Mustangs and came out and dominated visiting Hammond on Sept. 30. Both teams struggled maintaining possession throughout the game because of the slick conditions from the rain, but the Eagles totaled four goals and a shutout over the Golden Bears. Senior Jasmine McCree continues to be a productive force up top, registering two more goals in the win over Hammond, while Courtney McVicker, Cristina Narron and Kirsten Wikner all registered a score each on the week. Up next: Tuesday, Oct. 4 at Mt. Hebron.
