3. (3) Howard (3-1-2 county, 4-2-2 overall)

One game for the Lions this week and they came up with a scoreless tie against Wilde Lake. Howard has struggled putting in goals this season, only scoring one goal or less in all but one of their matches. However, Howard’s offense created more chances against the Wildecats on Sept. 27 and put on a number of solid shots on the net. If it wasn’t for the efforts of Wilde Lake goalie Jenna Hutchison, the Lions would have been looking at their fifth county win, but instead settled for their second-consecutive tie. Howard’s defense also hasn’t gotten enough credit this season. Besides two games against Fallston and Atholton where they let up two and three goals, respectively, the Lions have allowed just one score in their other six other contests, combined. Up next: Tuesday, Oct. 4 versus Glenelg.
