2. (2) Glenelg (14-4, 17-4)

The Gladiators went into their game against Howard Feb. 19 riding a seven-game winning streak and was coming off an impressive performance over Reservoir, defeating the visiting Gators, 58-32. Glenelg had an opportunity to take a share of the county title with a win over the Lions, but the Gladiators had trouble slowing down Howard early and could not connect on enough shots down the stretch. In the 54-35 loss, Glenelg posted one of its lowest scoring marks of the season. Fortunately for the Gladiators, the last time they came off a loss they won seven in a row, and as coach Chris Beil said after the Howard loss, if Glenelg goes on another seven game win streak, it’ll tout a state title, and a 2-0 record into next season.
