1. (1) Howard (17-2, 20-2)

The Lions captured the Howard County championship title after a perfect week that saw wins over Centennial, Glenelg and Hammond. Howard had an exclamation point win Friday over the visiting Gladiators, as Glenelg had an opportunity to take a share of the county crown with a win. Instead, the Lions, led by Sam Lewis’ 22 first-half points earned a convincing 54-35 win. With the county championship already in hand, Howard didn’t let up when it played its second of its back-to-back against the Golden Bears Saturday afternoon, getting the 54-36 victory. The Lions end the regular season on a four-game winning streak and undefeated at home.
