First Team: Francesca Vanegas, Atholton (senior, guard)

Vanegas, also Player of the Year nominee, is one of the smoothest players on the court. She has a terrific jumper and a lethal perimeter game. She can get to the hoop with ease and is a menace on the defensive end. In her four years on varsity Vanegas accumulated 957 career points, scoring 517 of those points this season, which leads the county. Vanegas also led the county in scoring, averaging 20.6 points per game and helped lead the Raiders to their first state finals appearance since 2008. The senior also finished with averages of 3.6 rebounds, three assists and about five steals per game, while shooting 78 percent from the foul line.

“She is probably one of the most natural basketball I have seen, just very fluid,” Atholton coach Julia Reynold said. “She worked really hard and has just a great basketball I.Q.”
