Second Team: Emily Dorn, Reservoir (sophomore, forward)

Dorn broke on to the scene as a freshman last season, but grew into an even better overall player for the Gators this year and helped the program finish toward the top of the county standings.

The sophomore forward is ferocious on the boards and is the only player in the county to average a double-double for the second straight season. She led her team in steals (1.6), blocks (1.6) and rebounds (10.2) — including 3.5 on the offensive glass — while scoring 11.5 points per game.

Dorn is not only strong on the block, but extended her perimeter and mid-range game as well, and for a 6-footer can handle the basketball very well, often helping in breaking the oppositions full-court press.

“She took her game to another level this year being able to play inside and outside,” said Gators coach Deb Taylor. “The other thing about Em she is a fantastic kid. She is a leader. Has not missed a game or practice in two years, playing with a broken nose and dislocated shoulder, just a tough, tough kid.”
