A big key to the Gators success this season was the play of Tiller on the perimeter. Her ability to lock down the opposition’s top guard is a big reason why Reservoir finished as one of the best teams in points allowed (43). She has great court awareness and has the quickness to stay with anyone on the floor. The senior averaged more than a steal per game and about two defensive boards through 20 games played this season.
“If Haley doesn’t do what she does defensively then we don’t have any success in the league,” said Gators coach Deb Taylor. “She typically shuts down the opponents best perimeter player with great success, typically below their scoring average. Her worth ethic, her defensive ability and what she does off the court. I feel strongly that she is one of the best perimeter defenders in the conference.”
