Mt. Hebron — No. 3 seed (3A East, Section I)

Record: 9-7 county, 12-10 overall

Best case: Brandon Prox and Alex Nazaire get hot from 3-point range, Ryan Kinloch provdes a scoring spark, which he has shown flashes of this season, and Mt. Hebron continues its stellar second half of the year. After winning eight of their last 10 regular season games, the Vikings start the postseason with a convincing win over Reservoir and then avenge their Feb. 3 loss to Centennial in the sectional championship. In the 2A South final, they squeak past Stephen Decatur to win their first regional title in more than 30 years. Their historic runs ends in state semifinals to eventual champion Potomac (Md.).
