Howard — No. 5 seed (4A North, Section I)

Record: 2-14 county, 3-20 overall

Best case: Senior Andrew Blanco (16.7 points per game) explodes on the offensive end, which combined with a boost from a few role players helps Howard exceed its county-low scoring average of about 48 points per game. And despite dropping seven straight games, the Lions go into Catonsville's gym on Friday night and steal a win. Then they avoid getting blown out by top-seeded Dulaney in the sectional semifinals.
