Arts Integration in Laurel

Fifth-graders Kayden Tuffour and Jeffry Rios-Gutierrez perform a tableau about African-American slavery with their project group in an arts-integrated social studies class at Vansville Elementary Middle School. In an arts-integrated classroom, students demonstrate their understanding of core subject matter through an art form - for instance, by writing song lyrics about space, or by creating comic books about the rain cycle.
