When Jaxon Edwin — an offshoot of watch band maker Clockwork Synergy — opens this spring, the three-story, 3,000-square-foot building along Main Street will contain a coffee bar with alcohol and an “old-fashioned” barber shop, according to owner Jeff Braswell. “Our main concept is quality,” he says.
But the centerpiece will be men’s watches, made in Ellicott City. The town isn’t new for Clockwork Synergy, which has been based in Ellicott City for the past 12 years. During that time, the company has been featured on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and in GQ Magazine, and has grown to 18 employees with a store in Baltimore’s Fells Point neighborhood. Its products have also been sold in Best Buy for three years.
“Our goal is to create jobs,” Braswell said. “We believe the more jobs we create, the more successful will become.”
