In front of a packed house at Howard Community College on Friday night, a total of 24 Howard County senior boys basketball players got an opportunity to showcase their talents in a low-pressure environment.
All 12 county public schools were represented, along with both area private schools as well, in the annual all-star game that has now taken place each of the last four years.
In the end, the white squad — featuring players from Centennial, Chapelgate, Long Reach, Mt. Hebron, River Hill and Wilde Lake — emerged victorious in a back-and-forth contest, 105-103.
There were plenty of dunks and 3-pointers throughout the evening, and when the final buzzer sounded every single player on both rosters had scored at least one basket.
River Hill’s Charlie Thomas and Chapelgate’s Matthew Frierson were the leading scorers for the white uniform team, while Glenelg’s duo of Dom Napolitano and Nick Oates paced the dark uniform team.
