Firefighter sustains minor injury in two-alarm blaze in Clarksville

One firefighter received a minor injury in a two-alarm blaze in Clarksville Monday morning, according to a spokesperson for Howard County's Department of Fire and Rescue Services. 

The injured firefighter sustained a shoulder injury and was taken to an urgent care facility. The firefighter was not admitted to a hospital. 

Approximately 70 firefighters from both Howard and Montgomery County responded to the blaze at a townhome community located in the 6000 block of Blue Point Court around 11 a.m. Monday. 

Two townhouses were rendered uninhabitable, with a third sustaining smoke damage.

Approximately six residents have been displaced as a result of the fire and are receiving help from the Red Cross. No one was rescued from the fire, although one dog and four residents were evacuated from the row of townhouses.

At 12:15 p.m., the fire was reported to be under control. Great Star Drive and Blue Point Court have been closed as a result of the response.
